The Witcher
Although The Witcher was underrated in its early stages, its popularity has since gone through the proverbial roof, earning the series the number 4 spot in Netflix’s top 10 ratings. Geralt of Rivia is one of a dying breed of hunters, tasked with killing monsters and saving innocents. Soon, though, his lone-wolf journey must come to an end. When he saves the Princess Pavetta of Cintra’s consort Duny, Urcheon of Erlenwald, Geralt asks for the Law of Surprise to be invoked. This dictates that when a man is saved by another, that man is to present his savior with a boon that is unknown to both parties. In Geralt’s case it was Princess Pavetta and Dundy’s unborn child. When Cintra falls to an enemy invasion, Geralt must search for the future Queen and protect her from her enemies.
Taking on these challenges with courage, loyalty and selfless disregard for the perilous consequences that face him and those whom he is protecting, Henry Cavill —known for his role as The Man of Steel—puts on a spectacular performance as Geralt of Rivia, as does Freya Allan in the role of Ciri. As a result, the audience is drawn into the action in a compelling manner in this captivating tale of Geralt of Riva and his royal charge Princess Ciri. The result is a 2nd season just released on Netflix and a 3rd one that is on the way!
